Being able to hold up interaction or the option to see more cards has always been good in Commander, and its why Mystic Confluence sees so much play
Or rather, if the creatures next to it are traded off and dealt with, it's really meaningless
It has very specific homes with other creatures that care about activated abilities and commanders with specifically costed abilities like Maeve, Insidious Singer
Its worth mentioning The Lost Cavern of Ixalans Explorers of the Deep Commander Precon, which cares quite about Merfolk and +1/+1 counters but if you arent fussed about budget, Universes Beyond: Warhammer 40,000s Necron Dynasties is an incredibly strong Commander Precon, especially if youre a fan of the Games Workshop franchise (or Space Marine 2)
