The creature card is already tapped and attacking as it's put onto the battlefield

It seems quite apparent that The Ring was designed for the Commander format, where multiple copies cant (easily) show up

They essentially negate all combat damage coming at you, althoughtrample can still be a problem

It's even better in casual today since we just adore using our graveyard with mill and more
